Bio-
Since the Series is more set about the lives of Sonic, Sonia and Manic, there is not too much set about there mother before this. We know that she was probably born into the royal Family and she knew that Robotnik was going to take over. She found out that if she spilt up her Children they would be save from Robotnik and One they day would find her and Robotnik could be beaten. She is often seen in the background watching the Children but they have yet to met up with her.

Bio-Analysis of Character-

At Different stages of the show, Queen Aleena has had different views on her hiding. Early in the Show, she is in hiding but still meeting up with friends how could help her in some way (like in 'To Catch a Queen'). Thought this seams to hint that she is planning something, a lot of times she is just 'wandering' around Mobius with no real goal in mind. Later on she appears to have a much more active part in the freedom fighters, giving more direct help as in 'Head Games' and more so in 'Sonia's Choice', in which she appears to have a much closer link to the Freedom Fighters then has been shown before. Despite all this, The Hedgehog haven't caught up with her and they still seam to believe she is in a more static location (see 'Country Crisis). For information shown, it appears that they will get together more in the near future then the too distance future.
Notes Relating to the Character-
* Some People haven't noticed some of the method to Queen Aleena's actions, mostly due to the lack of information given in the show, but it appears pretty clear that Aleena knew who she had to give the children too for them to grow up safe and trained enough for there mission to stop Robotnik. While there is no clear sign of this, a lot of her actions do seam to say this and it is clear she knows a lot about the future and whatever must happen before they get together, even if she doesn't know the timing of such events.
