There are a number of Bots ranging from the Basic Swatbots to the Hover bots but they are all pretty much the same. Robotnik created them to take over the kingdom and tricked the King into paying by a small program change to make them 'Peace bots' to act like a police force. After the Take over, they act as Robotnik's Army and Guards.
