Inside the Metro Bar, in the Poorest part of Metropolis zone, a thief named Smirch has stolen the Purple Chaos Emerald is is trying to sell it to a masked man for a great sum of money when Sonic appears, after the chaos emerald. Using Poison gas, Smirch escapes, leaving Sonic to quickly clean up the mess before the gas can effect anyone. Since Smirch has gone, Sonic questions the masked man to found out how Smirch got the emerald, and the masked man turns out to be Knuckles. He wasn't very happy that Smirch stole an emerald from him and the two form a loose team to try and regain the emerald. Thanks to Porker Lewis' Chaos Emerald Tracker, They find Smirch in no time but as Knuckles hits the wall to bring down some balls and bricks on top of smirch, Sonic gets in the way and they fall on him and Smirch escapes into the sewers. Sonic and Knuckles then get into a fight about how was to blame for letting him get away, which leads to Knuckles punching Sonic, where he lands right on top of Smirch, who is trying to escape, and they get the Emerald back, with Sonic returning the Emerald to Knuckles. |
